Resources for Undergraduate Research

APS provides resources to support university faculty and other physicists offering research experiences for undergraduates (REUs).

REU Conference
A 2008 conference brought together representatives from the NSF-funded Physics REU Sites for a two-day workshop to discuss effective practices in the current REU programs and to learn more about effective practices in programs outside of the NSF-REU Physics Sites.

REU Resources
A list of resources for researchers offering REUs, including assessment tools and studies, conference proceedings, and resources for students.

In 2008, the APS Committee on Education passed the Statement on Undergraduate Research calling for research experiences for all physics and astronomy undergraduates.

The Committee on Education of the American Physical Society calls upon this nation's physics and astronomy departments to provide, as an element of best practice, all undergraduate physics and astronomy majors a significant research experience.
