APS Physics Presentations
APS presentations provide an overview of the Washington Office's lobbying efforts, including organizing Congressional visits and writing letters to Congress to support basic scientific research -- the linchpin of technological innovations that make our economy thrive. The presentations also underscore the importance of federal support for basic research as it relates to our country's competitiveness with countries such as China and India. Michael Lubell, director of public affairs in the Washington Office, often gives the presentations at APS meetings to educate our membership and encourage them to take an active role in boosting funding for science.
