APS General Election

Election Information

This website is only for dispersing information and is not the official APS election website.

Candidate Information
The 2010 APS Nominating Committee is pleased to present an outstanding slate of candidates for the 2010 APS annual election. Those who are elected will begin their terms on 1 January 2011. Please take this opportunity to view each candidate's biographical information and statement by clicking on the names below or download candidate brochure as a .pdf for review and printing.

APS also announces its annual, Society-wide electronic election. Members for whom the APS has valid email addresses will be notified via email regarding election procedures and all members are encouraged to use the web-based voting process hosted by Survey and Ballot Systems, Inc. of Eden Prairie, Minnesota.

The election website will be open from June 15 until September 1. Paper ballots will be provided upon request or for those for whom the APS does not have a valid email address.

Constitutional Amendment

One APS Constitutional amendment issue is on the 2010 ballot regarding changes to the structure of the Council.  The following proposed Constitutional amendment was unanimously approved for a membership vote by the APS Council at its most recent meeting on April 18, 2010:

"Do you approve the APS Constitutional Amendment to eliminate the current two-year International Councillor position and to designate 4 of the current 8 General Councillor positions as International Councillors with regular four-year terms?"   Yes         No
